There's something to be said about firsts. Your first bike ride, first kiss, the first success or your first heartbreak. Whatever it may be, the first time for anything is always exciting. The rush of adrenaline, the sweet knot of butterflies in your stomach, the anxiety and excitement along with a plethora of  unaccountable feelings make any first experience a memorable one! 

As a millennial in her thirties, I can safely say I've had my fair share of firsts! Some of these firsts form beautiful memories while other firsts have made me wiser (hopefully!!). However, every day is a new beginning. And each new beginning brings with it a fair share of firsts! Last week I was privileged to experience a first for me. By some stupendous luck, I found myself attending Lakme Fashion Week 2019 at JioGardens in Mumbai. A friend of mine got hold of LFW 2019 passes and invited me to tag along. So, with "star lit eyes", I attended the biggest fashion show in India. 

Spread across five days with over 35 top designers participating from all over the country, this biannual event is the fashion fiesta to watch out for. If you're on Instagram it'll be hard to miss the photos and videos posted about this event. With several Bollywood bigwigs as show stoppers and eyeball catching fashion shows this event garners a lot of publicity. I attended the fashion show by Shriya Som and Shehla Khan. Apart from the fashion shows, all designers put up an exhibition of their collections. This is where potential buyers and window shoppers (like me😜) can browse the collection and interact with the designers one on one.

Being a newbie Mumbaikar (I've only been living in Mumbai since the past 8 months!!), attending this event with celebrities, fashionistas and Page 3 "janta", I truly felt like I was in the City of Dreams. It was a great experience attending my first live fashion show (of course it didn't hurt that Karan Johar was one of the show  stoppers!!). This will definitely go down as one of my memorable firsts!
